Morgan, Gillingham sweep ASA Pro Division again !
Levi Morgan, archery’s “Tiger Woods” is definitely a man on a mission. He led the tournament the first day with a score of 22 up followed closely by Gold Tip Teammate Tim Gillingham. His Gold Tip Triple X Pro Shafts kept racking up twelve-rings until by the end of the second day’s competition he had a virtual unsurmountable 12 point lead going into the final shootoff. 6 targets later another championship was in the books for Morgan and his lead on the ASA Shooter of the Year expanded yet again.

In the Senior Pro Division it was all Allan Conners. He led the pack of five shooters going into the final shootdown and led when it was all said and done. 3 other Gold Tip Senior Pro Shooters made the final shootoff in the Men’s Senior Pro Division.

Women’s Pro was not different. Three Team Gold Tip women made the shootoff and the “rookie” Emily Beaubouef finished second in her first ever Pro Women’s shootoff. Gold Tip Teammate and Pro Wome’s veteran Jeanna Albritain finished in the third spot for the weekend.

Dubbed the “Superman Shoot”, the last ASA tournament before the Classic Championship in Culman, AL in August was a burner in many senses. With the temperatures as high as 108 and the humidity soaring the shooters and their equipment was put to the test. You had to suck it up and make sure you ate your spinach to handle this one.
With a record attendance of over 1300 shooters it was in the end a banner event for Gold Tip Shooters. In the three Pro Divisions Gold Tip shooter won both the Open Pro and the Senior Pro classes and dominated the majority of the amateur classes with all top three places swept in Open A, Crossbow, Known 50, and first place finishes in Semi Pro, Open B, Open C, Bow Novice, Senior Women and Women’s Hunter. All in all 33 top three finishes for Team Gold Tip says it all. Great shooting everyone and we will see you at the next tournament in Yankton, SD July 6-8 for NFAA National 3-D Championship and the final Leg of the World Archery Festival 3-Star Tour!
