Gold Tip Shooters take 3 of the top 4 places!

Redding California is the sight of many archers favorite tournament of the year.  With 70 targets over an incredible range this tournament brings the top shooters in the archery world together in three days of intense competition.  This is a unique format in archery with orange dots on 3-D animal targets and the mainstay of a lot of California archery tournaments.

The talk of the weekend was a young shooter not many had heard about.  Henry Bass was the number one ranked Jr USAT male in 2010 but never really broke through until this year.  He stayed right at the top pack and when it was all said and done he had finished the tournament tied for first place with Canadian shooter and a Redding “first timer”  Chris Perkins.  One arrow shootoffs are the norm at Redding and the tournament is usually decided on one arrow at the incredible 88 yard elk herd scene.  Henry finished second after tricky winds made it difficult to decide where exactly to hold to compensate.   Henry was shooting the Gold Tip Ultralight Pro 400 with 150 grain points.

Tied for the 3rd place slot were three archers, two of them on Team Gold Tip.  Gold Tip Staff manager Tim Gillingham persevered and finished in the third place slot with Jesse Broadwater right behind in 4th.  All in all Gold Tip Men’s pro shooters accounted for 5 of the top ten places in the tournament.  In Women’s Pro Samantha Morgan and Emily Beaubouef both finished 4th and 5th respectively.

In Amateur Men’s The top four archers were all shooting Gold Tip Pro Series arrow shafts.  Led in 1st by Mark Eaves, tied at second were Tommy Daley and Chris Harris and in third was Ben English.  Mark and Ben were shooting Gold Tip Kinetic shafts and Chris Harris was using Ultralight Pro Series 22 shafts.
