Las Vegas!! The granddaddy of all indoor archery tournaments kicked off and Gold Tip shooters finished better than ever. The new Gold Tip 30X arrows are becoming more and more popular as shooters are starting to understand how to use the ultra-stiff shafts and the benefits in accuracy that they get from such a consistent shaft. It takes a lot of thinking outside the box and changing of our opinions on how bow and arrow setups should work. The big surprise was Wyoming native Lee Ford shooting a perfect 900 and making the Men’s Pro Shootoff. And, can you believe he was shooting them at 26” cut right to the rest just like we recommend. He was one of five guys of over 235 that started the tourney. He ended up in 5th and we would like to send out a big congratulations to him for such fine work! In the Men’s Open Class, Rob Morgan from Montana shot another perfect 900 to wrap up his class shooting using, no surprise, Gold Tip 30X Pro’s. Close behind in the Men’s Senior FS Championship division was a complete domination by again Steve Boylan in 1st and a familiar name in achery for the last couple of decades, Ed Horn coming in 3rd. Both were shooting 30X Pro’s. I guess it’s those long winters indoors. All the Championship divisions showed more success than ever with Gold Tip carbon arrows and that included the Bowhunter Championship Division where, although a Gold Tip shooter didn’t win, four shooters placed in the top ten. Leading the way was a new Gold Tip shooter Grant Schleusner in 2nd, Perry Harpring in 3rd, Gold Tip Staff Manager Tim Gillingham in 5th followed by a newcomer to target shooting, Chris Berry in 9th. Attatched are some of the winner’s photographs. Give them a big congrats when you see them. |
