| Carbon arrows swept the 2006 Iowa Pro-am in Mason City, IA on Jan14-15th. Gold Tip shooters did extremely well with the 30X shafts being the favorite. Gone is the myth that you need 14 different spine sizes to fit the mirage of setups on the market. Sally Robie, who won the 2005 Iowa Pro-am, was shooting her 30X shafts much shorter this year, around 27” and commented they shot much better after she posted a 300 with 59X the first day of the tourney. She went on to handily win the Women’s Pro Division. Other big winners were no surprise either with Perry Harpring dominating the Bowhunter Freestyle Division and Steve Christian coming in second, all shooting 30X Pro GoldTip arrows. There was a clean sweep in the Senior Pro class with the charge being led by Ed Horn on Saturday and being taken over on Sunday by Steve Boylan. Gold Tip shooters made a clean sweep of this division all using, Gold Tip 30X Pro’s. Frank Pearson ended up 3rd with Ed horn slipping back to 2nd. |
